A man in his 50s and with hard features, stubble and greying black hair tied back in a ponytail. He and his wife Felicity adopted the young Tifanel after he ran away from his laboratory home. A retired carpenter, he initially appears to be hard-hearted and suspicious of Tifanel, but he did care about him as if he were his own son. Tifanel aquired his penchant for DIY from him. After the trouble about the village murders came out, Riley showed his last act of love by helping Tifanel escape to Dalimoor, but it turns out this got him arrested for aiding a criminal.
