Apathy Ververte was the name given to Lierlo by his birth mother, Malevolence. Apathy is also the manifestation of Lierlo's Cielnoir side (also sometimes known as Cielnoir Lierlo or Lierlo). In reality, Apathy is just a figment of Lierlo's imagination, created as a result of Siun's constant bullying. Siun told him that his Cielnoir side was impure and evil, so he began to hate a part of himself and wish he could be rid of it. This became Apathy. Lierlo used him as a scapegoat to blame for anything he did wrong. Apathy is that voice in your head that tells you to run with scissors. But he's also Lierlo's conscience, critic and guide to his feelings. Whenever Lierlo does something wrong, Apathy's sure to be there to scold him for it. But also if Lierlo is blocking out any of his feelings, Apathy tells him not to. He's there to guide him to his true feelings. What took Lierlo a long time to realise is that because he created Apathy, Apathy can be whatever he wants him to be. If he needed a friend, he could find the best one in Apathy. After losing Mihako and Allen, Lierlo came to see that the greatest love can be found within yourself. He and Apathy began a special relationship.
